The translation for "I'm afraid of you" is " te tengo miedo". Why did we use "te" here not estoy. why did we use "tengo" here however it means "I have"? (Spanish Question)

1 This is the english question section so you might wanna check that
2 I haven't touched spanish since I got out of high school but I believe you use tengo here simply because they say it differently, similar to how in Spanish they say "yo tengo x anos" rather than I'm x years old. In English, you say "I am afraid," but in spanish you say "I have fear." Since you are the one who has the fear, you use tengo, and the te is what directs the fear to "you", I think
