If you’re just flirting you can say lindo (handsome). Don’t call him amor (love) cause it’s kinda weird.

@junhoto “meu bem” can be very casual. You can use it as you would use “honey”.

• Crush (yes, in english, this expression was very famous here in brazil to refer to someone you are interested in)
• Bebê (baby)
• Contatinho (If literally translating it would be his phone number, but in this case it's a way of saying that you flirt with him)
• Lindo or Lindinho (means handsoms, the other one is a cuter version)

@morenatavares Thank you! I'd like to try calling him "lindinho" and see how he responds, haha. He DID say I could call him whatever I want.

@junhoto He will love it! If you want to be more formal too you can call him "querido" (darling) or "meu bem" (something like honey) but we usually use a lot of "crush" and "amor" (love), but this last one is more serious

I think it depends a lot, you can use a nickname. For example, my name is José, a girl flirting with me would call me Zé (Nickname for José).

you can say “gato” (cat) or “gatinho” (little cat) *last one is more cute, but i love use with guys who’s not look like cute. it’s more informal then “meu bem”, for me that expression (meu bem) are perfect when i’m so so so so so in love with someone, and he’s too.

You could call him “gatinho” that means he is handsome but in a hot way, some people call each other “bb”, it is the short for bebê that means baby (it’s ok to say it even you’re not dating). But, if I could make a suggestion, use an english word that is common for you, it will stuck into his mind! hahahaha

I readed all the answers and, in my opinion (I don’t know if this look relevant to you), you need to have some specially care to used some nicknames. Some people are more cute and they custom used this terms to express their feeling. Others prefers to use something less unsual terms to not look tacky. Brazil it ’s a such big country, with many cultures in the same local. Call someone like honey its usual to some people and unusual to others. Try to use a term in the middle of this baseline. Say "gato" its a good option, "meu bem", "bebe" its more ununsual.

@laravervloet Ahhh, okay! Good to know, thank you! I've been using a mix of "meu bem" and "gato" actually. In North America, we say "babe" a lot in relationships. Is "meu bem" closest to this term?
