前→the front, in front of, forward, ahead, in the face of, former, last, before, ago, previous,under(under 30=30前 /30歳前)
("前" has so many meanings, and chages according to context)
以前→before, earlier in time, in the past, ago, past time, until now
("以前" means basically "before /before now")
