@rayyandiro it is the same language but change, but not because of same family language. For example. Philippine is also in Austronesian language, but we can’t understand them, tho there’s a significant number of similarities. Actually the language name is Malay language, but Indonesia change it to Indonesian language to represent their kind of Malay language because after Malaysia and Indonesia was colonised by different European, so Indonesia has a lot of Dutch influences while Malaysian has British influence, somehow they kind of make their another Malay language to make it reasonable for Indonesia to have Indonesian language. But technically or originally it’s just a Malay language, a language that was once used in Malay archipelago or at least somewhere around Malaysia, Indonesia, Southern Thailand, Brunei some Philippine part etc .

@rayyandiro I don't know really much about the history of languages yet. But, from what I've read and do some research, it's because both languages are in the same language family which is called the Austronesian language family (also sharing the same family with some other languages). Same goes like for example French belongs to the Romance language family sharing the same family with Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Romanian and many more languages. I can't explain more as this is only what I know for now.
For further information, I suggest you to search about this on the internet.

Both languages look similar but still different. One of the differences is, in Malaysia, you is “kau” meanwhile in Indonesia, you is “kamu”
