When to read 家 as いえ or うち. I find it hard to choose which one is correct when reading in sentence. Can you give sample sentences.

So when I talk about "home" I will use uchi and when referring to the "house" I will use ie. Thank you

■家…basically it is read as いえ。(kun-yomi)
so, when you read certain sentences, you can mainly read this kanji as 「いえ」。
that's no problem.
if the writer wants reader to read it うち、
probably 「ふりがな」is added, if there is no ふりがな、you can read いえ.
you don't have to worry about this matter , because anyway
いえand うち…not so different.
ex)私のいえ
私のうち
both meaning are almost same.
only slight difference of nuance.
(いえ…house, うち…home)
■but as you know 家has other reading ..
on-yomi(け、や)。
山田家(the Yamada family)やまだ・け*
我が家(my home )わがや*
