@Cathy_04 Generally, overseas means literally 'across the sea'. It also means some kinds of foreign travel.
From Japan to Canada is overseas but from Germany to France is not.
Abroad means 'widely' and also foreign travel (to another country).

people in overseas has different cultures- here overseas means foreign country, my friend lives in abroad- which means foriegn, but they both have same meaning, they are synonyms. but abroad is used more commonly than overseas.
