Question about English (US)
I saw this sentence "it's easier 'than me deciding' what to order from mcdonald."
Then, can I apply it this way?
1) It's faster for you to go than me going there.
2) We can get deliveries rather than us going to the restaurant as usual.

@ameba_da Native speakers often get this wrong, but it’s proper to match up the conjugation of the verbs.

❌ “It’s faster for you to [go] than me [going].”
✅ “It’s faster for you to [go] than for me to [go].”
#2
❌ “We can [get] deliveries rather than us [going] to the restaurant as usual.”
✅ “We can [get] delivery rather than [go] to the restaurant as usual.”
The sentence you saw was probably in a casual context. It’s okay for that kind of situation, but in formal situations it will sound uneducated or too casual. It’s better to just learn the correct form. 👍
It’s hard to explain, so I’m sorry 😔 Even we had to learn this grammar in middle school from a teacher, so it’s pretty advanced.

@pridren Thank you for the tip. On the other hand, I've been wondering if I could mix 'toV' and 'Ving'. Thanks again. :)
- English (US)
@ameba_da You can mix them sometimes, but in this kind of comparison it’s better to keep them separate. Good luck!
