"Estimado" is so common in Chile to express a respect to someone. example:
*Buenos días estimado ¿cómo estás?.
*El es muy estimado por las personas de aquí.
" Estimado "means a person who is so popular, the people love him o her, is nice, kindness, is appreciated, the people really like him o her.
