wollen (will) hat mehr Nachdruck - möchten ist höflicher
Ich möchte bitte dieses Buch haben! -> heißt so viel wie: wenn du das Buch gerade nicht brauchst, wäre es nett, wenn du es mir geben könntest (höflich)
Ich will dieses Buch haben! -> heißt so viel wie: ich will das Buch unbedingt, egal was ist oder wem es gehört (mehr Nachdruck)
Das war jetzt übertrieben erklärt ^^ Stell dir das Wort "wollen/will" wie bei einem trotzigen Kind vor, das gerade mit dem Fuß aufstampft ^^
