In English stomach=ventre Indeed ! xD In French, estomac refers only to the organ (anatomically speaking) which is the place of the digestion ! Even though stomach and estomac share the same root and seem to be very close, their meanings are different.

@piau merci beaucoup pour votre amiable réponse! does «j'ai mal au ventre» sound natural? and what is the difference between it and «j'ai mal à l'estomac» if any?
- French (France)
@k2pa00 you're welcome ! «j'ai mal au ventre» sounds perfectly natural, we say that a lot ! 😆 (for instance, if you ate too much during Christmas time... ahah). By saying that, you're not specifying where exactly do you have a pain (it's a general way of speaking conveying the idea that you are feeling nauseous, or that you're stomach hurts somewhere.) You can say « j'ai mal à l'estomac » as well, BUT, the main difference is that, by saying that, you are precisely locating the place of your pain. It's just like you were saying "J'ai mal au rein" (I have a pain in my kidney) or "j'ai mal aux pieds" (my feet hurt). Is it clear enough ?
