Question about Italian
Why do you sometimes put "the" in front nouns? In the middle of some sentences it will say "-lo zucchero" but not acknowledge "lo" as "the".
(my example may not be correct, but i think you know what i mean)

Languages work differently, each language handle definiteness differently from another.
When you refer to generic substances or concepts in English, you usually skip the article. We don't do that in Italian:
- sugar is usually white = lo zucchero di solito è bianco
- peace in the world is an attainable goal = la pace nel mondo è un obiettivo raggiungibile
Another example is that the article is mandatory with possessive adjectives, whereas in English it's not, so "my dog" is "il mio cane" (literally "the my dog").
If you have other examples where you don't understand why the article is there, I can try to explain why. Just keep in mind that languages are and work differently, and that's the beauty about them 🙌
