There are three forms and all these forms mean "your" in English.
Depending on whether the article is der(masc.), die (fem.) or das (neut.) and which case is used you need a different form.
â If the phrase is the subject of a sentence you either need "dein" or "deine."
⢠(der Vater)=> dein
Dein Vater wohnt in Deutschland.
⢠(das Kind) => dein
Dein Kind ist 2 Jahre alt.
⢠(die Mutter) => deine
Deine Mutter wohnt in Frankreich.
⢠Plural nouns no matter which article => deine
der GroĂvater- die GroĂväter
=> deine
Deine GroĂväter leben in England.
das Haus - die Häuser
=> deine
Deine Häuser sind schÜn.
die Tasche- die Taschen
=> deine
Deine Taschen sind teuer.
â If the phrase is a direct object (an accusative) you either use
deinen (masc.), deine (fem.)or dein (neut.)
⢠(der Vater)=> deinen
Ich kenne deinen Vater.
⢠(das Buch) => dein
Ich mag dein Buch
⢠(die Mutter) => deine
Ich besuche deine Mutter.
⢠Plural nouns no matter which article => deine
der GroĂvater- die GroĂväter
=> deine
Ich kenne deine GroĂväter.
das Haus - die Häuser
=> deine
Ich kaufe deine Häuser
die Tasche- die Taschen
=> deine
Ich liebe deine Taschen.
â If the phrase is in the dative case and plural you need "deinen".
Ich spreche mit deinen GroĂvätern.
Er spricht mit deinen Kindern.
Der Film gefällt deinen Freundinnen.
Ich liebe deinen Akzent.
The phrase "deinen Akzent" is a direct object to "liebe". That's why you have to use the acc. case.
As it is "der Akzent" the form changes from "dein Akzent" in the nom. to "deinen Akzent" in the acc.
Hope this helped a bit. đ
