Stumble: to fall a little bit when walking.
E.g. “she stumbled and dropped her phone”
Tumble: to fall more dramatically - with some bouncing.
E.g. “she tumbled all the way down the stairs”
(Also, a tumble drier dries clothes by tumbling them round a barrel)
To remember, i think of stumble as a mixture of “step” and “tumble” :)
