Because "école" starts with a vowel. If the next word starts with a vowel, even if it's feminine, you will use 'masculine' particles.
Hope this helps! :)

Because it is what we call a "pronom possessif": mon, ton, sa, votre, notre, leur; and the gender of the person doesn't count whe' using them, you could say they are neutral.

@JulieM23 en fait MA est un déterminant possessif tout comme MON et LEUR
Les pronoms possessifs c'est «les leurs» / "les nôtres." etc
Donc en fait entre tes guillemets si tu veux être exacte il n'y a que des déterminants possessifs.
Je te rejoins sur le reste sinon

@JulieM23 "Because it is what we call a "pronom possessif": mon, ton, sa, votre, notre, leur; and the gender of the person doesn't count whe' using them, you could say they are neutral."
Hey! I think that has nothing to do with the question. ;)
@Baozino gave a clear explanation, when a feminine noun starts with a vowel, "ma" automatically becomes "mon", it's a grammatical rule. Nothing to do with the gender of the person.
So, JulieM23's anwer is off topic. ;)
