Canadian seems to have partly kept an ancient form of French, and added their own words
French is… French 😅

I personally more like the European french cause they speak faster and that sounds better (idk why) and québécois (so Canadian French) is really slow and they always pronounce all those letter they have too.
Or maybe it is just me who thinks québécois is slow.
PS: I also think African french is slow but that’s another story

I have a thing for Canadian french, I find it so friendly (I mean, I love French french also, it's my language, but still).
People in Canada almost never use the "vous", and that makes the conversation so much more casual immediately.
When I was there, I found that it definitely changed my distance with people, it eased my interactions with them, even if we met for the first time.
I find that this language makes things more simple (well, not more simple to understand, because I struggled a lot with the accent and some vocabulary, but simple in the way of communicating, addressing to someone).
"Ils ne font pas de chichis", as we would say here, and I loved that.

You see the differences you would find between British English and American English? Well that's similar for French.
We speak the same language, so we understand each other, but the accent, some words, structures and idioms are different.
Depending on the person, some people have a very strong accent in Canadian French, other not. In Québec, they often say "char" for "car" instead of "voiture" as in standard French etc. A girlfriend would be "une petite amie" or "une copine" in France, while it's "une blonde" in Canada.
Something interesting is that in Canada, French speaker tend to translate things that we don't like menus at Mcdonald's, for example. We say "happy meal" as well in Europe, but they say "joyeux festin". It's perfectly understandable for us, but also funny.

Québecers here often change words that are native and existing in the French language to English. It gets to the point where a lot of Québecers tend to forget the actual French words for certain things because they are so used to using an English word as replacement. For example, popcorn in French is maïs soufflé. They will still use "popcorn". School desk is "pupitre" but instead they will use "bureaux". Réfrigérateur is "frigo" here as well. A lot of these are actually everyday French here in Québec. Not slang...
Even for me, I use subtitles to understand the weird French from here in Québec because I understand France French better since that was what I was taught.
I honestly prefer the accents native to France. Not so much the ones here. Some of the accents here in Québec make me want to cry if I'm being honest. Then there are the nice ones.
