ex) 친구한테 선물을 줬다
= I gave a gift to my friend.
ex) 친구한테서 선물을 받았다.
= I got a gift from my friend.
but "한테서" can be shorted as "한테".
so you need to focus on S/V/O.
친구한테서 선물을 받았다 = 친구한테 선물을 받았다
