Hence : for this reason--> The cost of transport is a major expense for an industry. Hence factory location is an important consideration.
Thus : as a result of something that you mentioned before ---> They diluted the drug, thus reducing its effectiveness.
Therefore: as a result of something that you mentioned before ----> Their car was bigger and therefore more comfortable.
They are somehow equivalent.
