Question about English (US)

When I wanted to ask something to be unclear, I usually used 'by any chance,~', but I heared that I can use 'happen to' such as 'did you happen to about that before', Is that right? because when I practice to speak in english, I haven't heared this kinds of sentences '~ happen to~'
