âThisâ means the Wednesday that comes next. So if you say âthis Wednesdayâ on Monday, it means the Wednesday two days from now. If you say it on Thursday, itâs the Wednesday 6 days from now.
If you say ânext Wednesday,â it means the Wednesday of the following week. To avoid confusion, if you are talking about next Wednesday when itâs already Thursday-Saturday/Sunday of this week (meaning you could also potentially say âthis Wednesdayâ), give an exact date to go with it (ânext Wednesday 5/26â or ânext Wednesday 6/2â)
