どういたしまして。:)
Then you can either say:
Ich benutze diese Karte als Messer.
Or:
Ich benutze diese Karte wie ein Messer.
(❗) with the article (❗)
Both of these mean the same. ^^

こんにちは!:)
---
ℹ
When comparing two equal things, you'd use:
genauso + Adjektiv + wie + Nomen / Person
as + adjective + as + noun / person
---
Examples:
Ada ist genauso groß wie Kiki.
– Ada is as tall as Kiki.
Unser Haus ist genauso groß wie euer Haus.
– Our house is as big as your house.
(❗)
So the second "as" has to be "wie" in German! ;)
---
ℹ
When comparing two different things, you'd use:
Komparativform eines Adjektivs
+ als + noun / person
comparative form of an adjective
+ than + noun / person
---
Examples:
Ich bin größer als du.
– I'm taller than you.
Mein Zimmer ist kleiner als deines.
– My room is smaller than yours.
---
ℹ
For many situations where you would use "like" or "how" in English, you'd use "wie" in German.
---
Examples:
Er sieht aus wie Leonardo DiCaprio.
– He looks like Leonardo DiCaprio.
Ich nehme auch einen Schokoladenkuchen, wie Anna.
– I'll also choose a chocolate cake, like Anna.
Wie alt bist du?
– How old are you?
Wie geht es dir?
– How are you?
Ich weiß nicht, wie das geht.
– I don't know how that works.
---
Most of the time, you'll see the word "wie" in situations where it would be translated as "how" in English.
That's definitely the most common usage. :)
I hope I was able to help you out.
Please let me know if something wasn't clear enough.
Have a great day! 🐼🌷
