It depends on the context "whatever" is being used in a sentence for. In this instance, It could be an informal way of saying "never mind". Please be aware that "Whatever" can come across as impolite when using it to say "never mind".
- French (France)
ok so when I want to say something like never mind if the other don't understand what I mean and not been impolite, I don't use whatever. correct
