If you endorse an idea, youâre willing to support it, or put your name to the support of the movement. If you advocate for something, youâre openly protesting, or taking action for the sake of your cause.

âI endorse this toothpaste for all my patientsâ (pretend your dentist said this) = your dentist is telling you they approve this toothpaste and suggest you using it
âI advocate for dental hygieneâ (also a dentist) = they care about dental hygiene and might educate you about it
What Macedon said is definitely correct but advocate doesnât mean you are protesting necessarily. You can âadvocate forâ something like education or abortion rights. It can be a way of saying âI care a lot about this topic and I want others to know about it and be educated about itâ.
Endorsement is really just saying you support something. Like âI endorse schools providing free lunchesâ versus âI am an advocate for schools providing free lunchesâ. The first sentence is saying you support it, you like the idea. The second one is saying you work towards the end goal of schools providing free lunches
