Honestly as an English speaker we will use them interchangeably. There is honestly no difference in the two from my point of view. āI might go to the storeā āI may go to the storeā literally mean the exact same thing. I know itās super confusing but I promise no English speakers know the difference, and we use them interchangeably. Hope this helps!!!

@AnaBanana1259 This isn't 100% true though. As native English speakers, it's hard for us to notice because we're so used to it, but there are subtle but important differences between many words. For example, saying "Might I use the bathroom?" instead of "May I use the bathroom?" sounds weird. Furthermore, "might" can be used for past, present, or future tense, while "may" can only be used for present and future unless you say "may have."
