Common sense is the general knowledge to survive in life. Example "it's common sense not to touch fire!" Or " it's common sense to take a shower after a long day of work." Common is something that is normal. Example. "it is common for people to have a cell phone." Or "it is not common to eat a brownie for breakfast." So just think of the word normal when talking about common.
