In your sentance you said you tried local "foods". Plural. So you can't say "among that" because "that" is singular. You could say "among those foods" as these are both plural. You then changed the sentance to say you tried local "food". This is a collective word. You tried one group not one food, so you then need to change to a collective word on the other side. "Among which" means inside the collection. Does that make sense???
