Yep. "Quisieras" is more casual so it's more frequently used.

Sounds like : [Wanna] go out for dinner?
"Te gustaría" sounds more formal, it's something you would use when asking a girl out or something like that.
¿[Te gustaría] ir a cenar (conmigo)?
Sounds like : [Would you like] to have dinner with me?
