in Syria back in nineties we learned in elementary school that "Pupil" mean student, I hearded many times in movies and media it mean the black ball in the eyes too. is the same word have double meaning? and why i never heard an American today use Pupil for student. is it like an old expression now?

@Caesar5x Yes, 'pupil' has two meanings. It is still being used, only it's referred to children studying in elementary and below.
