посмотрела (посмотреть) - глагол совершенного вида. Действие как результат.
"Я посмотрела на него". Действие совершено.
"Я посмотрела на него, и тут же влюбилась". Действия идут одно за другим: "посмотрела" (что сделала? - действие-результат) - "влюбилась" (что сделала? - действие-результат).
смотрела (смотреть) - глагол несовершенного вида. Действие как процесс.
"Я смотрела на него". Действие совершается (оно как бы "размазано" во времени).
"Я смотрела на него, и одновременно влюблялась". Действия идут одновременно: "смотрела" (что делала? - действие-процесс) - "влюблялась" (что делала? - действие-процесс).
