Question about English (UK)

What is the difference between Jane said that she COULD carry the bag. and Jane said that she would carry the bag. and Mark: I COULD have lived in London but it was too expensive. and Mark: I WOULD have lived in London but it was too expensive. ?Feel free to just provide example sentences.

I am bit confused about the usage and meaning of "COULD" and " WOULD". Do they have the same meaning?
