Yes. It does depend a little bit on context. To my ear "realize" sounds like a pretty serious mistake. Like "you realize in retrospect that you should have taken the other job" kind of serious. So if you were talking about, say, leaving out a comma then you would probably say something more like "I didn't see that (mistake) until you pointed it out."
