Question about Malaysia
Is the epidemic still serious in Malaysia? If I want to visit Malaysia after COVID-19, what are some interesting places to visit? Are there many Chinese restaurants in Malaysia? I'm afraid I won't get used to the food there.

@Methaday
Yes it's still serious.
Maybe Kuala Lumpur or some islands like Pulau Langkawi, Pulau Ketam or so...you can google for it. It's depends on your interest whether you want to go for places with beaches or places for shopping. Genting Highlangs and Cameron Highlands are nice too.
There are lots of Chinese restaurants in Malaysia. You can see restaurants with chinese name anywhere. By the way it's best if you would try some other races food too, for example roti canai from Indian and nasi lemak from malay, there are nice too.

@Methaday Hi I’m a Malaysian Chinese. You can easily look for Chinese food here. Wherever you go, as long as there is Chinese staying at that area, you can find Chinese style easily. As we have 20percent plus Chinese population in Malaysia. Language is not a big barrier to you. Most of the Chinese here speaks Mandarin (if we attend Chinese school) and dialects like Cantonese(esp KL and ipoh), hokkien, teochew
As compared to China perhaps our Chinese food has more varieties of flavours since we have add in more local seasoning after decades. We have dim sum, bak kut teh, prawn mee, hainanese chicken rice, hainanese breakfast etc. Whatever you think of, mostly you can get them. Most of the Chinese here are originated the north part of China.
Since our malay friends are majority Muslim, their food is halal. While most of the Chinese food are non halal (means with pork etc). So if you go for a halal restaurant means no pork will be served.
If you can eat spicy food, would recommend you eat some food from malay and Indian too. Like rojak, Teh tarik, roti canai. After years, some food has Chinese version as well, for eg Nasi Lemak, Asam laksa etc
If you are in malacca, try for Baba & Nyonya cuisine. They are the children of local Malay and Chinese in oldern days thus they practised a combination of Malay and Chinese cultures.
If you are in KL China town, you can also find traditional Chinese biscuits and food.
If you are in bukit tinggi, genting area or bentong, you can find a lot of kwongsi cuisine.
Ipoh and Penang island is good for food hunt as well
I would say haha don’t worry that you can’t find Chinese food. Pls worry about you are not able to try all nice food in Malaysia 😂 It’s a food paradise. When we Malaysian go overseas for a few weeks, the thing that we miss the most will definitely be our food 🤣

@StaceyWong Your answer is very meticulous, thank you for your attention. 👌As a sichuan native, I love spicy food very much. Once the epidemic passes, I will try more local characteristics when I have the opportunity to travel. I am willing to try. I am not worried about the language problem, because I have talked with Malaysian netizens on other platforms in the past time , it seems that there are many Chinese and Chinese schools.😋😋😋

@Methaday yes and we have ancestors who fight for our Chinese learning all the while. Thus malaysia has one of the best Chinese learning system in SEA. Even it is not supported by government. Chinese community spend money to build schools, because that is our root. We love Malaysia and proud as Malaysians, but we are also proud of our gen and roots
N ha I think you can eat freely here since you are from Sichuan 🤣and halal and non halal food is ok for you
Side note : There are more and more China Chinese restaurants here, like Sichuan cuisines.

I definitely recommend going to the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur and yes you can easily find chinese food here. We add in seasoning that we are used to so it adds our own little twist to it. Kota Kinabalu is a beautiful place, everywhere in Malaysia is beautiful.
