Momotaro and his peers were so strong that *the* demons were frightened and surrendered. *The* demons said, "We will never rob the villagers of their valuables *again*, so please forgive us!" Momotaro believed their *word* and decided not to kill them. When the party came back to the home village, bringing a lot of valuables which had been *stolen* by the demons, the villagers *were* delighted and thanked them.
