I would say that both can be used interchangeably here, although I think in this situation “take” sounds better :)

I agree that you can use both.
The key difference from bring and take generally (and also for to come vs to go) is with the location of the speaker and listener. "you should take a bottle of wine to the party" sounds like the speaker may not be at that party. "you should bring a bottle of wine to the party" makes it sound more like the speaker will be at that party. "are you going to the party?" sounds like the speaker may not be there herself, but "are you coming to the party?" indicates she will be there.
