Say a guy works as a miner and today he's having a chat with his friends.
"It's hard what I do."
Is it grammatical correct/informal/not understandable?

It's grammatical, yes. For better comprehension there should be a comma between "hard" and "what", so "It's hard, what I do", but the sentence itself is correct.
