Question about English (US)

What's this statement supposed to mean:

(Husband is taking off to the store to get some stuff for the housewarming party)

(Wife notices that her husband has left his wallet without realizing it)

Wife: You're not gonna have much luck paying, cause you left your wallet here.

What does "you're not gonna have much luck paying" here mean?

From what I understand is that it implies the husband will not have enough money to pay for the stuff because he has left his wallet behind. Am I right?
