I can’t understand the difference in meaning and nuance between

They have a virtually identical meaning.
The only possible nuance is that "need" suggests a requirement, maybe even a command from a boss, whereas "should" suggests advice. Advice can be taken (followed) or ignored.

@YoA24 "need" and "should" are both persuasive.
"need" is just a stronger word. "need" is more urgent.
