Question about Japanese
how are Japanese names made? i notice that some names are just names, but ive also noticed some names come from already existing words with their own meaning, so how are names made or chosen?

@gigamuscle your grammer is perfectly fine! and so names are pretty much a mixture of words? using a dictionary i learned 康 is pronounced "こう" and 太 "ふと" or sometimes "たい" so it would just be "こうふと" or "こうたい"?

日本語の名前は➀意味➁音➂見た目がポイントだと思います。
➀漢字はそれぞれ意味を持っていますので、
それを組み合わせることが多いです。
翔平(Shohei) ← 翔(meaning kind of FLY) + 平(from place name平泉)
➁日本人にとって読みやすい音、聞きやすい音、
名前として違和感のないものを選びます。
(これはネイティブでないとむつかしいですね)
➂漢字の見た目も大事です。
かっこいい漢字か、かわいい漢字か...
補足:ひらがなの名前を使う人もいます。
意味のある言葉に由来する場合もあれば、音がいいからという場合もあります。

This is because there are some different readings for this Chinese character.
And most of the Chinese characters are the same.
Also, if you add 「い」 at the end, it becomes an adjective.
