"several" means there are alot of something in this context, there are alot of spirits.
When "some" is used the person is talking about more than two things but not as much as "several"
I'd say after ten items you could use "several" but there really isn't a set amount for this.

@Smirv there is no difference but the correct grammar to use is “are”
-There “are” some examples of spirits.
Use are instead of “is” and it’s perfect
