What does Connect - I - Cut mean?
What does Connect - I - Cut mean?
One American female friend told me that the children in the USA are taught to write Connect (and) - I - Cut to write Connecticut, since the spelling a little bit long for children (who are before entering prime school). Do you agree with her story?

Americans like me do not pronounce all of the letters in a word. We swallow sounds as part of our accent.
Instead of pronouncing all of the letters in the word “Connecticut” we often say it “Conneticut.” We often don’t pronounce the middle C, making it hard to spell.
To help children remember they suggests that they think of “Connecticut” as three common separate words “connect”, “I”, and “cut”. The words as a sentence are nonsense. They are in that order only to help them remember to spell it with the middle c.
