@xlhalo because it is not grammar.
If you want to use: a long time. It is:
Present perfect. Something that hasn't issued yet.
I haven't heard from her for a long time.
Simple past: it happened in the past and finished and you won't change it. Unless you go visit her. It is impossible.
She moved to another country a long time ago.
