Question about English (US)

I learned that the word advice is uncountable. So, if we want to use this word, "a piece of advice" or "some advice" is better. But I found that some people who speak English feel confused with the expression of "a piece of advice". Why they feel so? and if I want to express "some pieces of advice", what is the good way to express it?
