In Japan, when you return from a trip, there is a culture of giving gifts to people back home (family, friends, colleagues, etc.) that you have bought on your trip. This is called 土産(みやげ) (or お土産 in Bikago).

"お土産" é lembrança em português, o que é um presente que compra no local visitado para entregar a familiares, amigos e colegas. São comidas, doces inclusive brinquedos.
"プレゼント" é presente, o que é presentear alguém algo em datas comemorativas. Acredito que tem o mesmo significado do português.
