Bone head is kind of like saying “there’s nothing up there” or calling somebody stupid. It’s light-hearted but it’s still a little mean.

@JustApricity Okay, do you have any idea why this one site tells it's a "funny nickname" ? So is it still mean? Can light-hearted be still mean?

I mean it all depends on how you take it. Sometimes people who are closer would consider it a nickname, but if you’re not close to somebody it would be considered rude.
Also it sounds like an urban dictionary definition, what site did you get the definition off of?

@JustApricity Thank you, so about this "bone head" (or "bonehead"), I would like to know would you consider it offensive in this context "I hope you learned your lesson, bonehead" (from the movie Big hero 6) (big brother said to his little brother) the same older brother said earlier: "What were you thinking, knucklehead?" I just hope that this big brother didn't insult his little brother, what do you think? Just teasing (or even terms of endearment are fine but insults not) and in my language terms of endearment aren't insults (or insults aren't terms of endearment) but someone said to me that in English it can be possible that an insult isn't an insult instead a term of endearment

I think they’re just playing around as brothers, it does depend on the tone, like if he was actually angry. But knowing the movie they were probably just playing around. I hope this answers your question!
