I have a Chilean online friend, but don't really know that much about the country 😅
From picture it looks like a very beautiful country, and from the news I know you have bad earthquakes... I think Chile won Copa América last year?
Based on my friend, Chilean people seem to be friendly and kind 🙂

Yes ! it is , we are very friendly and nice , lamentably we have had a bad earthquake and after tsunami , but we are very united , yes Chile won the last year Copa América , two times 2015 and 2016 , well what about you ? I've seen that there are a lot of beautiful landscapes with so much snow and I think there it's very cold , I like so much Finland because the metal music is awesome in that country , apart of the beautiful of country

The things I know about Chile are very limited, even though I visited there briefly about 5 years ago. Me and my party hiked through the Lauca National Park and ascended the Parinacota mountain outside of the busiest season, so we met few people at all and most of them were other foreigners.
I know about the coup by Augusto Pinochet in the 70's and subsequent dictatorial rule, but honestly have no idea what kind of government you have now. I too have noticed your recent success in football. Then there seems to be a lot of red wine produced in Chile and I also have an image of quite a large number of black metal bands coming from there. Aside from those the only Chilean cultural product I (think I) have consumed is the book The Secret Lives of Trees by Alejandro Zambra.

In general, view on South-America and Chile as part of it is really limited. There is not much news from there and our companies doesn't have big interests in area so there is little to none affect on everyday lives outside those who has family or friends there.
