Question about English (US)

While reading a dictionary, I encountered the following sentence.

"As a little boy, I accepted as gospel everything my father told me."

It sounded kinda strange to me as I had never heard a sentence made of such a sentence structure.

The question is, could the sentence above and the following one which I made myself be interchangeable?

"As a little boy, I accepted everything my father told me as gospel."

Thanks a lot in advance!
