It depends on the person. Between Japan and English-speaking countries, there's an unspoken language barrier of politeness and formality. Since you're Japanese I assume you know about formalities in your country.
Where I live, the US, being too formal is awkward and almost intimidating. Especially growing in the online world, native English speakers often do things like purposely misspell words, use acronyms, or use swear words lightheartedly (I'm not innocent of this lol). So I guess the fact that there /aren't/ grammatical errors is the tip-off most of the time.
