I just looked this up because I wasn’t sure. There seems to be disagreement among grammarians online as to whether this is grammatically correct or not so I actually don’t know.

I feel like I’ve definitely used the phrase “forgot at home” before. Regarding whether it is correct or not technically, I do not know, but I don’t believe it sounds all that strange, honestly. As the others have said, “left it at home” would be the most acceptable way to say it, but the way you said it too is fine.
