"Is this on the house or do I have to pay for it?"
Does this sound natural? Please tell me if there are better expressions in restaurants!

The sentence is natural, but I wouldn't recommend saying it unless you're joking. Asking if something is free (on the house) can sometimes sound rude. :( Instead, you could ask "How much does this cost?" Or "What's the price?"
If there are other phrases you'd like to know, please feel free to ask! ^^

It could sound natural but this sounds like something you would say as a joke because most of the time you have to pay for stuff.
Some expressions you can use in restaurants are…
- Can I have the check please?
- I need a table for (put number of people here)
- What do you recommend?
- I would like the (put menu item here)
