You should say, "When we got to his house, my friend the driver pulled over to the side of (or on) the road. (You cannot move a road, only the car)
When we got to the house, my friend the driver stopped on the side of the road.
When we got to his house, my friend the driver moved to the side of the road.
The first one means that the car was in a traffic lane and moved sideways to the side of the road. This is a more deliberate movement with the car.
The second one could mean that the driver moved the car slightly to the side of the road.
The third one is the same as the second.
All of the sentences have almost the same meaning and are interchangeable.

You want to say this in order that it happened. The driver pulled over to the side of the road and stopped (to let me out of the car).
It's fine to say, "The driver stopped at my house (to let me out of the car).
If the driver only pulled over to the side of the road, then say, "The driver pulled over to the side of the road" (or on the side of the road). It would be understood that they also stopped the car, but not that anyone then got out of the car unless you said that.

You have several subjects in your sentences and it is not clear who is which person. If this is something you are writing to explain an event to someone else you need to say who is who.
My friend and I got to his house in a truck. (In this sentence, it might be important to say whose truck it is, using "my truck or his truck")
The driver pulled over to the side of the road to wait for us until we left the house. (In this sentence, someone would understand that you and your friend went into your friend's house, and a third person, a driver, waited for you outside of the house.)

He drew up does not work for this.
You can say, "He stopped on the side of the road", but it is incorrect to say, "He stopped TO the side of the road.
The best choice is the first one, " He pulled over to the side of the road (and waited for us).
