Anyone from England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland can call themselves British but most choose to instead refer to their regions (English, Welsh, Scottish or Irish) Those who are born in England but whose parents are originally from another country generally use the term British more. They usually mix it with their origin country areas. For example British-Asian or British-Caribbean.
